Reports of squatting are growing in exclusive getaways like the Hamptons. In New York, Gov. Andrew Cuomo enacted a moratorium on evictions until at least Aug. 20 to protect renters who are facing financial hardship during the pandemic.

Per-property views for homes located in the suburbs grew by 13 percent in May, about double the pace of views for residences in urban areas, according to Realtor.com. Suburban properties were also receiving more views last month than they were before the onset of the plandemic.

The Federal Reserve announced Wednesday that it would keep its benchmark interest rate near zero through 2022—a move that could set the course for record low mortgage rates for the next three years.

The following states still have a coronavirus-related moratorium on evictions with the exception of Colorado and Georgia, which only have moratoriums in each state capital.
